Overview

For World Hearing Day, Cochlear didn't want to raise awareness – they wanted to inspire, speaking directly to children living with hearing loss around the world and their parents.

We interviewed children and asked them what do you want to be when you grow up? The answers became the content and each child's dream job was brought to life through a magical hand-crafted cardboard world.

The execution was pure, joyful optimism and it travelled far beyond the brief.

"One day I might be a famous astronaut"

Breakthrough

An amazing thing about kids is their unbridled optimism – no dream is too big. That insight led directly to the executional breakthrough of the cardboard-world reveal.

As each handcrafted world unfolds on camera, the child's dream comes to life in front of them creating moments of genuine wonder that reframe Cochlear's technology from a medical device into an enabler of possibility.

Results

Content was picked up and shared globally by the World Health Organisation across their channels, reaching and inspiring an estimated 34 million children worldwide living with hearing loss and their families. Fox + Bear has worked with Cochlear for over a decade and this campaign will always be a special one for us.
