Hoselink had a genuinely innovative product ready for launch – the Evolve Retractable Hose Reel – and a brand platform to match; Cultivating Connections. What they needed was a hero TVC that could bring the product's technical innovation to life without making it feel like a hardware ad.
Fox + Bear developed the launch commercial, balancing product capability with genuine lifestyle resonance.
Smart production planning added an additional win, as by scheduling a second Hoselink TVC series shoot in parallel on the same day, we maximised ROI from location and crew. Two full commercials, one shoot.
A moment of connection
Rather than leading with product specs, Fox + Bear let the technology earn its moment through story. We positioned the Evolve Hose Reel not as a garden tool, but as a connection enabler – the thing that gives you more time outside and more moments with the people in it.
Glitzy CGI is always great to look at – and who doesn't love new tech – but in discovery we knew the spot had to have heart and soul. The end scene is what really cracked open the concept for us, showcasing an idyllic moment of connection.
Post-launch, the Evolve Retractable Hose Reel overtook the Classic to become Hoselink's bestselling product, with brand uplift tracking statistically significantly above benchmarks.
